Toyah is a town in Reeves County, Texas, United States.
On October 26, 1926 a black man in Toyah named Slab Pitts was dragged to death and then hanged for living with his white wife, Eva. One newspaper reported the killing as “Cowboys of Southwest Summarily Punish a Worthless Negro by Rope Method.”
The population was 90 at the 2010 census.
